Lately...

THE WEEK BEFORE LAST

The closet transformations were completed for the most part. These shelves had to come out of this closet and go to the studio closet in the next picture. Removing them made room for Mom's stuff to go into this closet. The boxes in the bottom need to go, and a lot of Mom's things still need to be moved from her former apartment to here and to storage!

This is the studio closet. It's now mostly a mixture of office supplies, art and quilting supplies, and other odds and ends. I love the after! It feels good to be organized.

THIS PAST FRIDAY

Sally and Mitzi Mae were groomed.
Aren't they beautiful?

And I thought about weeding this weed-friendly raised bed so we could plant a veggie garden there but I decided to take a picture of it instead.
I'm holding out for more rain to make the weed pulling easier. We got quite a bit yesterday and it's in the forecast all week. C'mon rain!

SATURDAY

George rented a trencher to dig trenches for a sprinkler system.

He worked his butt off all day too.

And Little Miss Daisy (our problem child) got under the fence and into a field in the back. We had to get two ladders out so I could get over the fence to get back there and get her. She was acting odd, sitting down, and wouldn't come to me at first when I called her. I was trying to avoid going through vines but she started out into the pasture so I ventured through them and was able to get her.

I think an insect or something bit her though because that night, her eyes were barely open and a little swollen. Plus, when I first got her back over the fence she was licking a place on her leg that had a pin-hole size spot of blood. I put some of Mitzi's eye drops in her eyes and gave her some Benadryl and she's getting better.

And Mom did jigsaw puzzles.
She's enjoying the 300 piece
puzzles with oversized pieces.

Karen, the Harasser stopped
by with her dog Pepper.

It was good to see her!

SUNDAY

Josh, Sheri, and their dog Sakari came over late in the day. Josh and his Dad investigated the engine on Josh and Sheri's boat. They bought a battery and the horn honks!

Sakari is a 5-1/2 month old Husky/German Shepherd Mix.
Sakari is very cute and sweet.

Sakari was Sheri's Christmas
present from Josh last year.

MONDAY

And last but not least, George talked to his Mom on the phone while we were sitting out in the shop. Usually around 4:00 or so each afternoon, we either sit up under the pavilion or open the doors to the shop and sit there. We usually sit in the shop when it's rainy or windy.

The girls are on leashes because
the yard is a mudhole from rain.
They're happy though.

Stayed tuned for "How to Make a Redneck Bulldozer" which is something elsewe did on Sunday! I'll probably post it tomorrow.

I'm Being Harassed!

I have a friend who emails me a LOT to harass me about not posting on the blogs. I get, "I came to work today and you have nothing posted. I am so disappointed," and "Donna, Donna, Donna, still no posts." Sometimes she has said things like, "You need to get with it." I'm not sure of the exact words but they were something to that effect.

With this in mind, I am posting...

Yep it's her...

Karen the Harasser
I hope you're happy now Karen. I'll try to post more often in the future but I might need more pictures of you.

Looky, looky, looky...

at who came over yesterday!

Marcelyne (l) and Suzette (r)
(In case you don't know, they're sisters.)

Marcelyene said she didn't want "her fat stomach" in the picture but she told me she's proud of her boobs because she finally has some so I included them! LOL.

I've only seen Marcelyne twice in the last 14 years or so--once at Michael & Crystal's wedding 10-1/2 years ago, and then at Suzette's wedding 5-1/2 years ago. Marcelyne and I were running buddies for many, many years, probably most of the 80's and some of the early 90's. These days, I see Suzette a lot more though. In fact, Suzette and I were roommates there for little awhile in the late 90's.

Suzette cut and colored Mom's hair
and mine. She's such a sweetie
to do that on her day off!

Mom's hair looked great!

Of course, I had to get a picture of Suzette and Marcelyne with Mom. Marcelyne picked right up where she left off calling Mom, "Mom" like she used to!

After Suzette finished our hair, we hung out at the pavilion and had a few beers. Suzette drank a few glasses of my brother-in-law Randy's homemade wine. She loved it. We called Sue (in Indiana) to find out what kind it was and she said, black cherry and cherry. Both Suzette and Marcelyne said, "Tell him to send me a bottle!" Sue said he got 80 more bottles out of the barrel a couple of days ago!

C'mon over and have some Karen. I know you're a wine drinker!

See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil.

Marcelyne commented, "George, you got
my
fat stomach in the picture,"
so he
took the photo again.

Here's the result.

That's my George. He's so funny!

We all really enjoyed the visit!
It was fun but way too short!

Linda's B'day and Other Stuff

We went to Linda's on Saturday to celebrate her birthday. I'm just now posting pictures because my computer bit the dust on Sunday. Brilliant and wonderful George resurrected it on Monday with a new power source.

I didn't take too many pictures on Saturday, and several of the ones I took didn't turn out well. In any event, here's a few.

Linda with her daughter Brandy
and Brandy's boyfriend Dustin.

OTHER STUFF

Here's the view out of the back door of the shop. Notice the pavilion is nearby? It'll be nice to have a bathroom so close. The boat is Josh and Sheri's. One of Sheri's relatives gave it to them.

It's been sitting in a field for years and needs work. George said if they can get it running most of the work is cosmetic.

The cosmetics involve all new seating and lots of other stuff.

The Framing is Done

George has finished framing the bathroom and office in the shop. The office will also be an extra sleeping space.

He's adding the last wall.

This is taken from inside the office space.
The refrigerator will face the hall.

The final frame is in place.

On top of these rooms will be a storage area. There will be short walls on top to hide the view of all our junk. In case I haven't mentioned it, outside that door leads to the pavilion.

George recently hung this sign
that Josh made him for Christmas.

Most of George's RC cars are on it.

George got a new toy recently.
A Mitre Saw.

Progress Made!

As you can see, we got a load of dirt, and had it sloped slightly to help with drainage. It has helped a little but not completely. Hopefully, we can grow some grass and see if it makes a difference.

George took Thursday and Friday off.
We cleaned out the garage on Friday.

The garage before...
and after
I didn't even know there
was a floor out there!

On Saturday, George started framing up the office and bathroom in the shop. His office will be on the left of the door and the bathroom on the right.

The shower stall will be in the corner and that's the back of the cabinet for the sink nearby.

The office will also have a daybed, futon, hideaway bed or something of that nature.

The shop doesn't look too bad considering a lot of the stuff from the garage went in there. Of course, George is still a long way from organizing everything the way he wants but we're pleased with the progress.
