My New Baby

My wonderful hubby has done it again. George bought me a new computer for my birthday. It's an Apple computer, a completely different animal than I've been used to in the past but I love, love, love it!

The entire computer is in the monitor which is 27" and in HD. The graphics are awesome and I'm a happy camper!

I didn't take the best
picture but here it is.

We had to take my old computer into the store so they could transfer all of my files over to the new one. We had a set time one evening to pick it up, and they were to do a one-hour introductory class with us to get acquainted with the computer and answer any questions. The class is not done in a classroom setting. Instead, it's done right there in the store with one of their "Geniuses" (that's what they call their employees).

Once we got there, our Genius took the computer out of the box and set it up on a table in the store. When the computer came up, lo and behold the same screensaver from my old computer popped up, prompting George and I to start laughing. Little did Indiana residents Sue & Jeanne know that they'd be making their debut in the middle of the Apple Store in Stonebriar Mall in Frisco, Texas but there they were. We got a good laugh out of it, and I couldn't resist taking a picture!

Here they are.
I can't say enough good things about Apple's support with the learning curve which, by the way, doesn't seem to be too bad so far. They offer in-store, one-on-one, one-hour classes, for anything on the computer or any software you buy and put on it. Very cool!

Thank you honey! You're an awesome hubby!

Gal's Get Together!

Last night, Karen, Faye, Suzette, my sister Linda, and I met for dinner at Olive Garden.

Suzette & Linda

Suzette, Linda, and Faye

Linda brought Flat Stanley with her. He was sent to Linda by Lexis, our sister Sue's granddaughter, for a school project. Linda is suppose to take him everywhere she goes and send him back in a week with pictures, stories, and facts about where he's been.

Turns out, Flat Stanley is
quite a little lush! Who knew!

(She plans to leave that
out of her return report.)

Our Happy Exit

Over and out!
We had a good time and
vowed to do it more often!

Snow, Snow and even more SNOW!

It's been snowing for over 10 hours now and it's 4:00 in the afternoon. It's suppose to continue well into the night too! I just watched the weather. They said that Denton (we live 10 miles east of there) has 8-1/2" so far, and DFW Airport has 6-1/2".

We're 1-1/2" from an all-time record and the weatherman says we should make it. They gauge the snowfall according to how much accumulates at DFW Airport. The last time Dallas had this much snow was in 1978 and prior to that was in 1924! It's the 7th snowiest winter on record and the 3rd snowiest February. As usual, I'm in heaven! I'm happy that February just started and hoping for more. And more. And more. And more....

A view from the front.

Taken across the backyard
from up under the pavilion.

I took this out the back
door of the shop. The
pavilion is on the left.

I had to let the girls run!
Here's Mitzi Mae.

Sally & Daisy

I love this picture
of them running off!

Here's the down side
but who cares!
It's only water!

George didn't have to go in. They're shutting the place down.

So this is what George
is doing right now.
Working in the shop.

Triston is Six Years Old!

On February 4th, our sweet and funny grandson, Triston, turned six. This past Sunday, we did a little b'day celebration for him here. George had to work so it was just Michael, Crystal, Preston, Triston and me. We watched the Super Bowl, enjoyed salad, ravioli with meat sauce, five cheese garlic bread, brownies and ice cream. Of course, we also sang Happy Birthday to Triston and watched him blow out candles and open presents.

He liked his card.
It came with stickers.

I told Triston that after we ate, we'd sing happy birthday, and he could blow out the candles. He replied, "Mimi, I love it when people sing that song to me!" It was cute.

He wanted brownies instead of cake, and he wanted to put the candles on it too. We accommodated his wishes!

One of his gifts was these Bendaroos. He's been wanting them for awhile so he was very happy!
It was a fun day except that Indy lost. That's okay though, New Orleans was well deserving.

It's snowing outside right now and I am so excited! Pictures later.

The Super Bowl is Tomorrow

GO COLTS!

If the Saints win, I'll be happy for them
too since they've never even
been to a Super Bowl but
I'd much rather the COLTS WIN!
