2016~Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains NP & More

Here I am again (nearly two months later) with my 2nd post from our trip last October to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg & the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There's lots going on but I'm hoping to be more productive with my posting in the future.

While in Tennessee, we were happy that Jack and Middy (bro-in law and sis-in-law) were able to join us for several days. One day, we drove the 11-mile loop through Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As you can see, it was a gorgeous October day!

The scenery never disappoints!

We parked and walked to a cabin...

...explored it inside and out,
and hung around just a tad bit.

Alluring streams and brooks are beyond
abundant, and I'm pleased to say that
they're just as plentiful outside the park too!
For me, they are mesmerizing--it's pure love!

We stopped at this one so Jack could point!
He's an excellent pointer, isn't he?

This is Cable Mill.
I enjoy visiting gristmills!

The rickety wheel methodically turns,
splashing the water into the stream below.
Listening to history is so cool!

A myriad of colors on both sides of the road.

Cruising through Wears Valley on the way back
to camp, we passed some really neat sites...
...and pulled into some
enticing little country locales.

While you watch, a man and his chainsaw
are creating bear carvings here.

Eastern Tennessee truly
knows how to celebrate fall!

Delightful Autumn vignettes are everywhere!

Some very tasty stuff can be found in here!

Coffee, coffee, and more coffee!
Oh, the joy!

Middy recommended these Amish Noodles
so we purchased a couple of bags.
They sure did make our Autumn
soups hearty and delicious!
I know there are places to buy Amish Noodles
in Texas (like Fredericksburg for one),
I hereby declare,
 that in the future,
it shall be a tradition to purchase
Amish Noodles when we're in the area.
Thank you Middy!

It's often the little things in
life that make me happy
like Amish Noodles from Wears Valley!
How about you?

Once we returned to camp, we started a fire.
Not because it was cold but mostly
because we can and we love it!

We also watched college football.
Tennessee, of course!
They played Alabama, and as expected,
they lost by a significant margin.

Hopefully, they'll clobber them next year.

See you soon.

Abundant Smiles,
