This trip was broken up into stays at three campgrounds with the first one being in Arkansas. We've stayed at two other Arkansas state parks in the past and they were beautiful! This time, we had the pleasure of experiencing Maumelle Park in Little Rock, and it was no different. In fact, it became our favorite Arkansas park the minute drove through the gate!
Positioned on the banks of the Arkansas River,
this pristine park is a picturesque delight!
A nice marina sits at one end of the park.
This is part of the marina.
A few of the many picnic areas.
The park was extra spacious.
Look at those wide open spaces!
A view of the river from our site.
Rick & Carrie were on a hill
behind us and down a little bit.
behind us and down a little bit.
The weather was PERFECT every day!
A blue and green up view.
And a multi-colored regular view of
these three smiling characters!
these three smiling characters!
Most of my people pics didn't turn out well. Some of you might be happy about that! Tee-hee! This excellent pic was the only one really worth sharing.
We were only at Maumelle for a weekend, and with the exception of a trip to Walmart, we stayed in the park the entire time. With impeccable weather and a scenic environment, there was no need to venture out!
A pretty sunrise over the
river the morning we departed.
The marina in the distance just after sunrise.
Our time at Maumelle was short but very sweet! We will definitely be returning in the future!
After Maumelle Park, we traveled to Seven Points Campground on J. Percy Priest Lake in Hermitage, TN, only 20 minutes from downtown Nashville.
It's full of pretty trees!
Many sites are on the lake.
Many are not but have a lake view.
Others have no lake view at all.
Others have no lake view at all.
In any event, they're all nice sites!
Spacing between most sites is plentiful.
These are about as close as some of them get.
Chewy was checking the sites out.
Site 21 looks great with lots
of space on the picnic table side.
As you can see, this one is spacious as well!
See the deer crossing the road below?
There were seven of them--fawns & adults!
It was taken from our camper door.
Stay tuned for more Nashville in the next post.
Big smiles,
D~~~~
