Fun Stuff With Preston and Triston

Last weekend when Preston and Triston were here, I was working on a lesson for my online class Letter Love 201 with Joanne Sharpe.  They did Lesson four with me.

This is Triston's page.
(Triston's middle name is Gage.  He goes by that name in school because several children in his class are named Triston.)

Preston's page.

Preston decided he wanted to play some more so he did the journal page below.
Good job Preston!

These were all done with Zig and Copic markers, Sharpies, and watercolors.  I love making art with my granddudes!

Have a Happy and Smiley Day,

Ryan and Chique's Wedding

I've had so much going on that I forgot to post pictures of Ryan and Chique's wedding which took place December 28th!  Ryan is my sister Linda's step son, and a mighty fine young man!  He is in the Navy and Chique is from the Philippines.  They came to Texas to get married.

Cake time!
It was good too!

I love, love, love Chique's dress.
It's the most gorgeous wedding dress I've ever seen.
Remember the episode of Friends when Monica, Rachel, and Phoebe are sitting around in wedding dresses--just because?  Well, I so want to do that with this dress.  Mostly because that's really all I could do with it!

Unless.. Unless...

Perhaps I could go to the movies in it?

Or Shopping at the mall?
Oh, how lovely would I look wandering the mall?

How about getting groceries at Walmart?
(It would certainly spice up that task!)

I could visit Mom at the nursing home!

If I put an apron over it,
I could wear it while I'm making art?

How about sporting it
when we travel in our RV?
YES!

I guess the possibilities are endless after all!

Now--where can I get a dress like that?

Smile On,

Christmas #3

Our third and final Christmas was on Christmas day.  Since our family Christmas was over, we were delighted that we could have our granddudes, Preston and Triston, here again on Christmas day while their parents painted and decorated a gaming room for them.  (They stayed two days too!)  The room was to be their Christmas present!  Like I mentioned in an earlier post, due to work schedules, they couldn't work on the room until Christmas day which was quite alright with us!

We picked up the boys on Christmas morning and went to see Mom at the nursing home.

We took some fun Santa hats with us!

The boys with Great Gram.

And with Mimi.

We switched some of the hats around too.
George's hat blinks!

Sweet Preston.

Of course, we had to take some silly pictures!

Doesn't everyone use
a hat for a microphone?
Mom got a kick out of it.

Some serious pics too.

Group photo!
I love it!
We had the best time and Mom really
enjoyed it which is the most important part.

Even better, it was snowing outside and this
was the scene on 377 headed to the house.
Anyone who knows me knows that I
was thrilled by our white Christmas!

It was a very special and spectacular Christmas day!  I loved it and will cherish the memories.

We hope your Christmas was Merry and Bright!
And that your 2013 is better than ever!

Blessings and Many Smiles to You All,
D~~~~

Christmas #2

The second Christmas was at Mom's nursing home on the 18th.

There were lots of presents.

Mom and Linda

We gave Mom our presents in her room after the big nursing home celebration.

Mom with one of her gifts.  She loves puzzles!

Cheese!

The three of us!

George and I bought a few more pieces of living room furniture so I've decided to paint the dark wall in the living room yellow to match the other walls.  It's a much happier color!  I might paint a smaller wall (where the French doors are) with the same dark color I'm painting over here but, at this point, I'm not sure.  I do want to get it done before the furniture is delivered tomorrow though so here I go!

Smilingly Yours,
D~~~~
