Video of George's Test Driving Adventure

After hours and hours and hours of trial, error, and Googling, I finally figured out how to get videos into Blogger (I think).

You need to enter the password below to view this video:

I did some major wrestling with YouTube trying to get it into my blog, and I finally gave up and went to Vimeo.  After wrestling with them a bit, and more Googling, I found the answer, and it turned it to be VERY EASY!  Of course!

Really Big Smiles Here,
(if this actually works)

Indiana Time!

A couple of weeks ago, we drove up to Indiana.
It's very pretty up there!

Such beautiful green everywhere!
(It's brown and gold here in Texas.)

On Friday and Saturday, we had a nice visit with Mom Keller, and George's brother Jim.

Mom is a beautiful, sweet lady!

On Saturday morning, before heading to Evansville,
we had breakfast with Sue and Randy at Koodie-Hoo's.
After that, we checked out the Mt. Vernon waterfront.
It's getting an attractive face lift!

The waterfront is on the Ohio River, and you can
click here to read about their face lift project.

We also fit in a visit with Aunt Bertha
and Ron.  It was good to see them!
We went to Mayse Market too.

We hauled home some sweet corn, tomatoes, potatoes, cantaloupe, zucchini, yellow squash, kettle popcorn, blueberry walnut bread, chocolate zucchini nut bread and peach preserves. It was all quite tasty!

Saturday evening, we went 4-wheelin' with Sue and Randy, and a group of their friends, (some I knew, others we did not).  George drove Slagle's RZR on the way out and Sue rode with him.  I rode with Randy.
In Indiana, you can ride anywhere on dirt roads in these babies!

First off, Geo and Sue got stuck trying to climb a fun hill.
Randy and I pulled them out.

Slagle

A view from the top of the hill.
(I think)

A pow-wow!

George also drove Joanie and Bryan's RZR.

Joanie rode with him.
They climbed the hill and charged through mud!

He also drove Dave and
Kim's souped-up Ranger,
as well as Randy and Sue's Prowler.
We headed home on Sunday.

I created a video but I'm having trouble uploading it.
I don't know how much time I'm going to have to work on it
but hopefully, I can post it soon.

Smilin',
D`~~~

Sister Trip (sort of) to Bonham State Park

Jeanne came to town last week, and we took a little RV trip (Linda, Jeanne and me) to Bonham State Park.  My wonderful hubby George was kind enough to take us to the Park late Wednesday afternoon, and help us get set up.  Then, he went back home to work the rest of the week, and left us girls there to have some sister time.

We missed Sue and since she wasn't with us, we named this squirrel after her.
Meet Susan Gayle.
She's maneuvering and eating a HORSE apple.
How appropriate!

The girls on their rope line.
Can you see them?

Linda and Jeanne went fishing.

They're the pink dots on the dock.

Linda caught this whopper!  I think his name is Moby Stick.

We love this quaint little park!  It's our second time here.  It's 90 minutes from home, and there are only 14 RV sites.  We had our choice of 13 spots, and took the awesome #1 site.

This is the way the Park looked that first night.
 Pretty empty--only one other RVer.

This pic and the one above show all the RV sites.
Reservations are necessary but the RV sites are not assigned.
It's first come, first serve.

There's a small, very sandy beach to the left of the pavilion and in front of the volleyball area which is in the sand you can see, just on the other side of the trees.
Jeanne was the only one who swam.  She said you could walk a long way out and only be to your waist.

Gotcha Jeanne

David came out around noon on Friday, but had to leave after breakfast on Saturday.

George arrived in the early evening on Friday.  He stayed until we all left together on Sunday.  YAY!

Saturday night George took off on his bike alone and navigated some of the bike trails.  One trail took him around the lake on the shore where he eventually landed in really soft muddy sand.  The bike went sideways and he flipped over the handle bars!  He was okay but when he got back to the RV, he realized his GPS has broken off the bike!  Linda, George and I trekked back to the scene of the crime, and after digging in the sand with a stick, we found it!  Yoo-hoo!

During the trip, we also rode bikes, played Scrabble, rented a paddle boat, and of course, pigged out!  It was a fun and special time!

Still Smiling,
D~~~~

Giddy Up and More

My sister Sue was here to visit from Indiana a couple of weeks ago, and we went to Lone Star park, along with Linda and David.  This was only my second time ever to go to a horse race.  The first time was about 25 years ago!

We had awesome seats thanks to a sweet old friend, Lynn.
Her husband trains horses and they race them.

Lynn provided us with seats on the finish line, three floors up.
Thank you Lynn!

I don't know much about betting (and I don't want to know) so I used a very scientific method.  I picked according to the horses name, and won something 9 out of 11 times!
What a hoot!
And a blast!

Of course, we visited Mom too while Sue was here.

I really like this picture!
I just noticed that we all have on red, white and blue too!
This was just before 4th of July.

Many Smiles To You,

4th of July at Cedron Creek on Lake Whitney

We took our grandsons, Preston and Triston, on an RV trip to Cedron Creek Park on Lake Whitney for the 4th of July, and for Preston's 14th birthday too. Lake Whitney is south of Fort Worth and only about 2-1/2 miles from home. We also met up with two other RV couples--Linda and Kenneth, and Paul, Tara and their son Dalton.

The kids kept a game of NASCAR Monopoly going,
and played it every time we went into the RV.
We moved it to the dashboard so we could
use the table which worked out just fine.

We ventured out on Paul's and Tara's boat.
This is Preston, Triston and Dalton
loving a ride on Super Mable!
Woo-hoo!

They wanted to be thrown off so
Paul drove in circles and bounced over
wakes until their wish was granted!

We stopped at a beach and hung in the water.

We also ran into Diane (in the hat).
Her hubby works with Geo, Paul and Kenneth.

When it was time to head in,
Tara and I hopped on Super Mable.
We didn't want to be thrown off though.
It was truly like riding on a couch except for
little sprays of water here and there!

That evening, Paul cooked up his yummy fajitas!

So delicious!

Paul and Tara had to leave for a day
so we found a beach to hang out.
Preston and Triston playing washers.

Kicked back!

The crew!
Front-Triston, Dalton & Preston
Back-Linda, Kenneth, Tara, Paul, Me and Geo.

We also took our bikes and two extra
bikes for the kids on the trip.
Every morning and every evening, we rode them.
Fun, fun!

Smiles,
D~~~~

The Bike Path at Nearby Greenbelt 380

George and I have officially become bikers.  No, not the Harley riding kind of bikers but the bicycle type.

A couple of weekends ago, we rode a really nice bike path that's only six miles from our house.  It's called Greenbelt 380 and consists of 10 miles of smooth, gravel roads.

We loved that trees were shading our path.

Being new at this bike riding stuff,
we only rode 2-1/2 miles in, and
it was pretty much shaded the entire way.

We passed a little snake on the path.

On the way back we passed it again,
and then another snake!
Two snakes!
I think I'll like this path even more when
the weather is cooler and snake free.

We also passed a deer standing in the edge of the trees about 10 feet away.  It was watching us.  When it moved on, a baby popped up and followed.  Very cute!  They're the kind of beautiful critters I enjoy seeing in the summer and especially close up.

Here are some links to the path (and more):

1) This site says that the greenbelt is a wilderness area with approximately 10  miles of multi-use trails and waterways for bicyclists, equestrians, hikers, kayakers and others.
