Kerrville, TX Area, Part 1~Empty Cross Prayer Garden

We made our way down to Buckhorn Lake Resort in Kerrville, Texas last week to meet up with our friends, Joe & Linda and Charlie & Sandy for a few days. We've stayed at this delightful little park several times now and we always enjoy it!

Each time we've been to Kerrville in the pretty Texas Hill Country, we've noticed the giant "Empty Cross" towering large on a hill high atop I-10 not far from the RV park.

Joe & Linda took us up to visit, and
oh my, it's quite a amazing place!
The obvious focal point of the Empty Cross and Sculpture Prayer Garden, this incredible site is where folks from across the country and around the world come to visit. It's a place of extraordinary nourishment for the soul!

The Coming King Sculpture
in the foreground.
The artist is Max Grenier.

The cross is 77' 7" tall!
Yep, it's a biggie.
Appropriately so!

All the sculptures are quite impressive!

The Lion of Judah

One Nation Under God sculpture is
the Star of David with 661 nails in
the shape of a cross on the left side.
That is one meaningful and thought provoking piece of art.

As I studied Peter's eyes, I felt as though
hwas going to reach out and touch me.

The Great Commission

So you can read it, here's a closer look.

The Coming King Foundation established this lovely prayer garden and others across the US and in other countries "for the purpose of bringing honor and souls to Jesus Christ." I can't think of a better reason! It's quite a special place and I look forward to visiting again.

Smiles,
